Compton's Water Source
Compton's drinking water is sourced from a combination of primarily groundwater extracted from the Basin through eight deep wells, along with imported surface water from the Metropolitan Water District (MWD). The water from MWD is from significant sources such as the State Water Project and the Colorado River. As Compton depends on both water and imported water, the composition of your tap water may vary based on factors like conditions, demand, or maintenance of the system.
